Statement of Interest

Being an immigrant from Thailand and supporting myself through grad school in the U.S. and growing professionally as a research professional, I would like to share my experience with young Thai professionals. Without a mentor, I struggled for a number of years as I tried to figure out the right professional paths for myself while pursuing my passion as a Thai dancer and musician. I have many lessons-learned and strategies I think would be useful for Thai Americans or Thai immigrants who are pursuing their professional growths and passions. I would like to see Thais in the U.S. cultivate their networks while maintaining their deep-rooted cultures.

We all have a lot to share through our different experiences and uniqueness from being a Thai. Our background as a Thai is a strength. We bring talents, different perspectives, and diversity to enrich our communities and the society as a whole. These qualities not only strengthen our Thai community but also promote tolerance and understanding among people of other ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds.
