Statement of Interest
I am respectfully seeking to serve as President-Elect for the Thai American Samakkee Coalition.
For over 20 years, I have been blessed to have been able to serve as an advisor, volunteer and leader in the Thai community in the Southern California region. Through this role, I would have the honor to volunteer and serve members of the Thai-American community in the United States. My objective is to support the Coalition’s President, Board and members to further the mission of this organization to build unity, provide resources, educational opportunities and visibility in order to uplift the Thai-American community.
Bio
Rosalyn Patamakanthin Vasquez is a Thai-American lawyer who has used her legal knowledge and skills to help the Thai community for over 20 years. Rosalyn received her Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2001.
In December 2002, Rosalyn became the youngest person and first Thai-American elected as President of the Thai Association of Southern California. In 2005, after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, Rosalyn co-founded the Tsunami Children Foundation with Thai celebrity chef Tommy Tang to provide mental healthcare and counseling to assist the youngest victims of the tsunami in Khao Lak, Thailand.
Rosalyn has also been an active board member of the Thai New Year (Songkran) Festival located on Hollywood Blvd in Thai Town, since its inception in 2004. In 2022, Rosalyn served as the President of the Thai New Year (Songkran) Organizing Committee, a one-day festival that welcomes over 400,000 attendees.
In 2021, Rosalyn was included in Good Morning America’s AAPI Inspiration List. Rosalyn has also served in several leadership and advisory roles, including Wat Thai Los Angeles, the largest Thai Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles, CA. Most recently, Rosalyn completed her term as President of the Thai American Chamber of Commerce of California in February 2025. Currently, Rosalyn is an Employment and Labor Law attorney with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.
